Is Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension linked to my already diagnosed High Blood Pressure? - pulmonary hypertension. more condition_symptoms
I have been diagnosed with high blood pressure and now, after you have been to the doctor a few days ago told me that I suffer from pulmonary hypertension. I wonder if the HAP is the result of the original already hypertension. Thx.

ReplyDeleteIt is not linked to hypertension, in fact, most are of unknown etiology. May to COPD, which is why I questioned based on smoking history. I think it does not suffer from a heart disease, sickle cell disease or mitral valve, and I'm sure you've mentioned, lead to PAH.
Pulmonary hypertension is increased pressure in the pulmonary circulation. It has many secondary causes, and some cases are idiopathic. In pulmonary hypertension, a constriction of the pulmonary vasculature, hypertrophy and fibrosis. The severe pulmonary hypertension leads to an overload of the right ventricle and failure. Symptoms include fatigue, dyspnea, and sometimes chest pain and fainting. The diagnosis is made by measuring the pulmonary arterial pressure. The treatment with diuretics and vasodilators. In some advanced cases, lung transplantation is an option. The prognosis is poor in general, if a secondary cause is not curable.
